- A clinical study evaluated 28 adults who reported 3 loose stools in the last 24 hours for less than 7 previous days. They consumed 2 billion CFU of B. coagulans Unique IS2 for 10 days and had decreases in duration of loose stool, frequency of defecation, and improvement in consistency of stools.[1]
- A randomized, double-blind clinical trial evaluated 100 adults with difficulty defecating regularly. The group that took 2 billion CFU B. coagulans Unique IS2 once daily for 4 weeks had an increase in number of bowel movements, and 98% achieved normal stool consistency compared to 74% in the placebo group. - Bacillus coagulans Unique IS-2 was tested in an in vitro digestion simulator (SHIME). The results showed excellent survival rates under both fasted and fed environments (99%+). B. coagulans Unique IS-2 began germination in the small intestine, and this continued into the colon. In the colon, the cells were able to produce lactic acid and acetate (also produced by lactic acid bacteria)[3]
